- 250 g (8.81 oz) Icing Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 80 g (2.82 oz) Quark / Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- 1 Vanilla Pod
- 1 packet Vanilla Sugar / Vanilla Extract
- 250 g (8.81 oz) Flour
- 1 packet Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. Corn Starch
- 1 Chocolate Bar 100 g (3.52 oz) (e.g. Ritter Sport, Niederegger or Lindt)
- 30 g (1.05 oz) Baking Cocoa Powder 100 %
- 30 ml (1.05 oz) Milk
Decoration:
Lindt Couverture Chocolate
Method:
Pour white wine into a sauce pan. Add sugar, orange and lemon juice and peel, cinnamon sticks and glove. Heat up the wine mixture, but don't boil it. Let it simmer for about 10 min. Turn off heat and let the mulled wine rest for 3 hrs. Pour it through a sieve and set aside.
Mix soft butter and icing sugar with an electric handheld mixer until you have a foamy texture. Add eggs one by one to the batter and fold them in. Add Quark or cream cheese, vanilla pod and vanilla sugar / extract and 170 ml of your newly made mulled wine.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and corn starch. Add the flour mixture to the batter and stir it until fully combined.
Slowly melt the chocolate bar in a Bain Marie or bowl over hot water. Separate the dough and add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder and milk to 2/3 of the dough. Mix it well.
Thoroughly crease the Bundt pan with butter and dust it with flour. Pour the light color dough into the Bundt pan. Gently add the chocolate colored dough on top.
Bake your chocolate Bundt cake at 175 C / 347 F for approximately 70 min. Once done. Let the cake cool down. Remove it from the pan and decorate it with chocolate couverture. For a little slice of heaven serve this beautiful cake for dessert.
