Cake pops are fun! It is a form of cake styled as a lollipop. The silicone baking molds needed are widely available on Amazon and they come in various shapes - classic round, hearts or flowers. The ingredients of cake pops are the same as baking a traditional cake and they can be made from cakes of any flavor.
Ingredients:
- 100 g / 1/2 cup Soft Butter
- 225 g / 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 190 g / 1 3/4 cups Wheat Flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder
- 225 ml / 7.60 oz Low Fat Milk (1.5% Fat)
- Coating Chocolate (white, milk, dark)
Method:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius / 356 F. Place the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl. Using a hand-held mixer, cream both ingredients together. Add the eggs into the mixture one at a time. Mix the baking powder into the flour and sieve into the butter-sugar-egg mixture. Add the milk and stir all ingredients together rapidly. Place the batter into the bottom half of the cake pops baking molds. Fill up the molds generously - the batter will rise slightly. Place the top half of the baking molds onto the bottom half and ensure that both parts are correctly joined together.
Bake the cake pops on the middle shelf for 20 to 25 minutes. Test the cake pops with a skewer. Then remove the baking molds from the oven and allow the cake pops to cool in the molds. Cut away any batter that has spilled out through the opening of the molds and carefully remove the cake pops from the molds. Carefully remove any excess batter around the edges.
Melt your desired coating chocolate in a heat-resistant bowl or Bain Marie over a pot of hot water. First dip the plastic sticks 1 to 2 cm into the coating chocolate, then push them into the cake pops. Leave to dry for about 30 min (e.g. place the sticks into glass). Then coat the cake pops completely and decorate with flowers, colorful sprinkles, glitter or anything else you like. Enjoy!
Extra Tip: For dark cake pops add 1 or 2 tsp. of unsweetened cocoa powder 100% to the flour in the batter. Anyone following a special diet e.g. Keto, Paleo, gluten-free can replace the wheat flour with buckwheat or Bob's Red Mill Paleo Baking Flour and the sugar with XyloSweet or Maple Syrup. If maple syrup is used quantity adjustments need to be made.
Serves: Ingredients for approx. 42 cake pops
